DME IQ Configuration

Definition

DME IQ is a Huawei cloud platform for centralized data monitorization of storage systems. It is configured on each storage device to send data the server in Frankfurt. After the connection is set, the user can access all the storage systems information added through the same web interface. /


Requirements

  • Customer has uniportal account
  • Storage Cabinets are registered on customer's account
  • Customer's Business type (Enterprise / Carrier)

Tasks

  1. Enter the Device Manager (https://192.168.128.101 or the IP of the port)
  2. Go to Settings > DME IQ Settings

  1. Toggle 'Connect to DME IQ and support OTA upgrades'

  1. Fill out the information:
  2. DME IQ Site: Customer's business type
  3. Customer Site Name: Descriptive name for the customer's site
  4. Transport Protocol: HTTPS for Internet / SMTP for Email
  5. Uniportal Account: Customer's uniportal account
  6. Contact: Add Huawei's employee contact information
  7. Click 'Save and Authenticate'

  1. Fill out the information:
  2. Uniportal Account: Customer's uniportal Account, can be found here:

https://e.huawei.com/en/myspace/accountinformation

  • Password: Uniportal account password
  • Authorization Mode: Online authorization
  • Customer Company Name: Name for the customer's company
  • Customer's Email: Uniportal Email

  1. Click 'OK' to try the authentication

  1. If all worked correctly, it should appear Authenticated:

  1. Login to your DME IQ account and wait for the Storage Cabinets to appear
  2. Open a TAC ticket to validate the Cabinets for the customer: Eusupport@huawei.com

Notes

DME IQ Data Sending
  • Alarm information → Huawei monitoring alarms to help solve the issue
  • Diagnosis information → Disk failure and capacity prediction
  • Performance indicators → Performance anomaly detection and bottleneck analysis
  • Log information → Fault location and troubleshooting
  • Inspection report → Device health evaluation
  • Upgrade data → Remotely obtain patches for the device and upgrade it
Security

All data is sent to a Huawei DC in Frankfurt, Germany. Management of data and operations is based on rights and domains, and permissions cannot be granted without approval to ensure that related personnel's rights are mandatory and minimized.
